*Lucy – The Heart Behind Our love for Belgian Malinois*
Lucy isn’t just a dog to us. She’s the reason we fell in love with the Belgian Malinois.
Her mother was the dam of our very first Malinois puppy who was involed in accident protecting our childern for vehicle — the dog that showed us what intelligence, loyalty, and drive really looked like in one package. So when we had the chance to bring Lucy home, we took it. We weren’t even looking for another dog at the time. But my dad, now in his 60s, wanted a personal companion. And that’s exactly who Lucy became.
She goes everywhere with him. Store, shop, riding in truck with grandkids’ or in the bed — Lucy is there. Around town, people don’t say “there’s your dad.” They say “there’s your dad and Lucy.” She’s known in the community, and she’s earned it.
*Temperament*
Lucy is everything you want in a family Malinois. She’s rock-solid with kids and social with other dogs. She reads the room — gentle when she needs to be, and a ball of fury when the switch flips. That on/off temperament is why we trust her, and why Dad feels safe with her at his side 24/7.
*Pedigree*
Lucy comes by it honestly. Her sire is a beast of a dog: *Maverick Kane Pacheco*, a dark, powerful male out of imported working lines from Mexico and the Czech Republic. Her dam is our foundation female — the one who started all of this for our family.
So Lucy carries both worlds: old-school European grit from her sire, and the biddable, family-first temperament we got from her mother.
*What She Means to Us*
Lucy reminds us why we do this. She’s not a kennel dog. She’s a companion, a protector, and a best friend to my dad. She proved to us that a Belgian Malinois can be a world-class working dog and still be the dog your grandkids pile on in the living room.
Every pup we raise, every family we place dogs with — we measure them against Lucy.
